Official Selection – Giornate degli Autori, 82nd Venice International Film Festival, Confronti section.
L’incanto (The Enchantment) is a documentary film that explores the magic of cinema through multiple perspectives. On one side, the master Pupi Avati; on the other, the story of the Cinema Odeon in Milan — an Art Deco masterpiece inaugurated in 1929, designed by the director’s great-grandfather, now closed and destined to become a luxury shopping center.
A personal and visual journey through memory, belonging, and collective imagination, where archival footage, original film sequences, animations, and private conversations intertwine to tell the story not only of a filmmaker, but of the enchanting and transformative power of cinema itself.
